hey you know what you people are dumb. he is in a better place that is how we have to look at it now. no charlie was not married, he was single. brandy broke up with him. no he didnt commit suscide. he was not in the right state of mind that night. im sure if he could go back and change this he would. yes, i am his little sister i know what happened before any of you did. i answered the door to officer williams at 5am. yes charlie had 2 sisters, and the reason why his friends didnt know about her was because he was not fond of them. he never saw her nor did he try to. i lived with this boy becuse our parents gave us up. noone was afult of this so if i hear people blame brandy again maybe youll burn in hell to! she was not there yes she talked to him that night so did many people. charlie only left richies house was because richie made him. richie told charlie that he had to leave. when a true friend would have taken the keys from him! I love you charles!
It's always sad to see the loss of a young man or woman from a community where they were obviously loved and cared about very much. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family. But there isn't any reason to accuse this officer of anything, there is no reason to announce his name or shoot him down with verbal comments. He was very clearly just doing his job. What if it had been a couple walking down the sidewalk and he would have veared to the right instead of the left and killed them and himself? What would it have been then..."Oh the police never do their job" You people out there need to open your minds a little bit and see the big picture there won't be any charges pressed and nothing will come of this. I'm not sure about all of you but i'm glad there are officers out there like him that use good sense and judgement in the heat of the moment. I feel a little bit better living in Vienna knowing that there are people like him keeping our streets safe.
I THINK THE OFFICER SHOULD BE ACCOUNTED FOR THE MURDER OF MR.MARTIN.IF HE WOULD HAVE HANDLED THINGS BETTER HE WOULD NOT BE DEAD AND HIS BABY WOULD NOT GROW UP WITHOUT A FATHER.
Ok, I have watched the video over and over.. are there other police cars in front of this dashboard cam? It appears to be to me. Why are they not being investigated?
You say he failed to render aid to the victim. The man hit telephone poles and wires were down. The officer had to be careful himself.
his name was CHARLIE MARTIN NOT DALE MARTIN
Do I feel for the family? Yes, I do. It is a sad incident. Do I feel that Law Enforcement is to blame? Heck no. Law enforcement was doing their job. How would you have felt if this "alleged" drunk drove through your neighborhood and killed one of your family members because law enforcement couldn't be there? Then it would be "oh boo-hoo...law enforcement sucks. They wouldn't do anything about this driver...they just let people get a "slap on the wrist" Come on Wood county. Obviously in some of your eyes law enforcement can't do anything right. It is a darned if they do and darned if they don't. They are doing their jobs trying to keep you, the people, safe. At least there were no "innocent" bystander killed by this person. Let LE do their job. They are protecting YOU. For the family...I am sorry for your loss. Regardless of what happened, it is still a hard time to go through and yes there will be lots of questions, but I hope that you can find peace somewhere down the road.
How come no one is asking why Mr. Martin ran from the police? What did he do wrong to warrant driving 75-80 mph? What was he hiding or running from when the police tried to pull him over? Yes I feel bad for the family and I've prayed for them, but the law enforcement agency is there to serve and protect. If someone hasn't done anything wrong then why run from them and put other peoples lives in jeopardy?
i kinda understand why they're doing it, to me it sounds like before the family and friends go off about the officer killed him by chasing him they want to clear the officer of any wrong doing which is understandable, in this day and age everyone is quick to blame the cops for someone elses wrong doing now i know there are some bad cops but it looks to me like this cop wasn't in the wrong i watched the video and am glad they posted it for everyone to see this way the family can get straight in their mind that the officer had nothing to do with the wreck
Let law enforcement do their jobs.. He followed protocol, and knew what was going on.. Dont be stupid and try and flee police officers.
The officer in question followed all protocols for this chase including appropriate speeds. The officer even slowed down and backed off from the suspect when he saw that th esuspect was refusing to stop and gaining speed. If the officer had to accelerate to 75mph to catch up to the suspect what do you think the suspect was doing. If you saw a person driving like that on your street would you wonder wherer the cops were to stop him?? We all expect these officers to put their lives on the line to save ours but then we wan tto question them when they do their job. Not me. I live in Vienna, love my city, and I am glad there are men like Sgt. Ingrham who are protecting my family and friends. This guy could have easily killed an innocent person in his inibrieated state. I am sad for his family but I believe that he alone is responsible for his actions the same as anyone else. If I chose to take part in dangerous behavior I alone would be to blame, not those who are trying to stop me.
You have to realize that the grand jury is the prosecutors “big show”. This is one of Wharton’s fist shows since election. Take a high profile incident, and have the officer prove that they are innocent of a crime. Wharton gets good publicity at the officer’s expense.
I never saw the lights on the lead cruiser go out. So in essence they were pursuing him up until the crash, and then failed to render any aid to the victim, which is what a public servant should be doing. the circumstances around this accident are sketchy at best. where is the footage from the cruiser that stayed with Mr. Martin during the pursuit. That footage could either exonerate the officer or maybe convict him of NOT following policy. My thoughts and Prayers go out to Dale Martin and his family. Know well that Little Dale is resting in peace. May God Bless You and help you through this troublesome time.
good question mike, i would assume that wharton wants to make it clear to the community that sgt. ingraham was not @ fault by clearing him thru a grand jury...kind of reverse psychology maybe??...seems a little unfair, but i am sure he will be cleared...afterall, he did follow protocol...
Mike, he's not on administrative leave because he didn't do anything wrong and he didn't break any laws. Therefore, he doesn't deserve the penalty of "administrative leave". The move to refer it to a grand jury allows the public to have input and a jury of his peers to review the "evidence" and find for themselves if there was any crime committed. It's almost certain they will agree, if presented with all the "evidence". Clearly, he did nothing wrong.
