Some local facilities have incorporated precautionary measures to help stop the spread of the H1N1 flu.

Vacation Bible School kicked off Sunday night at the First Baptist Church of Williamstown for hundreds of kids.

The director said they have made it a point to take extra steps to prevent kids from possibly being exposed to the H1N1 flu.

Jeremiah Kuhn, the director of the church's vacation bible school said "We're asking that all of our crew leaders watch the kids and look for any kids that might be sick and when kids register if the kids look sick to ask the parents if there's any chance of exposure and also we've given all of our groups hand sanitizer and different gloves when they do food projects and different stuff."

The Parkersburg parks division supervisor said they're discussing preventative measures and more recently stepped up efforts to keep the city's pools clean.
