Company officials say everyone on board is OK after a helicopter made an emergency landing on Route 50 in Doddridge County last night after taking off from the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport.

A company spokesperson for Air Evac Lifeteam says the incident happened just before 8:30 Wednesday night at the intersection of Route 50 and Greenwood Road in Doddridge County.

Air Evac Lifeteam is a medical transport company with a base at the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport.

The company spokesperson says after responding to a medical call the crew was lifting off from the scene when the helicopter hit a wire on the way back up. The pilot made an emergency landing on the highway.

Officials say all four lanes of Route 50 were shut down Wednesday night but are back open Thursday.

The company spokesperson says all four people on board are OK and the patient was transported by ambulance to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Air Evac maintenance crews will be checking out the helicopter at the scene today for any damage.
