Mayor Newell Will Apply for Grant for New Fire House

Parkersburg officials met Tuesday night for a city council meeting.
Council members gave Mayor Bob Newell the go ahead to apply for a nearly $2 million dollar grant.
The money would go towards the construction of a new fire station that would house 8 firefighters.
If it's built, Fire Stations 2 and 3 would consolidate.
Council members also approved a resolution for Mayor Newell to accept a $148,000 grant to purchase 7 new police cruisers.
