Despite the rain hundreds of people came out to the 5th Annual Wing Thing in Marietta on Saturday night.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau in Marietta held the weekend event.
The executive director, Wendy Wharff was pleased with the weekend's turn out despite the rainy weather.
Wharff said three to four restaurants ran out of wings because there were so many people who attended.
All proceeds went to the Marietta Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The Wing Thing had 7 men enter the wing eating contest.
The winner was Landon Evans, who won last year.
Evans ate a pound and half of wings in three minutes.
Evans said that he practiced two hours before and concentrated on eating rapidly. Evans grand prize was a grill.
The next event for the Convention and Visitors Bureau is next weekend for the River Front Roar.
