Planning for Next Year
WTAP News
Thanks to several last minute donors the Marietta fireworks went off Saturday night but their future depends on money raised each year by the Washington County Fair Board.

I too was let down by the fireworks. They were a total bore. Back 10 years ago the fireworks were amazing. Now adays they space them out so far it gets boring waiting for them, and the grand finale is only 15 seconds long. I think they were a total letdown. If they are gonna have fireworks, then have fireworks, not a space out show. It would have been better in my opinion if the firework show lasted half the time, and the fireworks were all close together, and actually made it interesting.

I sure hope Marietta's fireworks were better than Parkersburg. Im not sure what the problem was this year but the fireworks at the city park was very disappointing. My two boys even said they were not very good this year. I just hope it was a fluke and they will be better next year. Maybe Parkersburg and Marietta could put there firework together and have a half way decent show.

What a disappointment. The fireworks were not good at all. Better than nothing i guess. (ive seen better in folks back yards) As for derbys...TRY to ADVERTISE them fairboard!!!! Its no wonder they dont have any monies, horrible fairs, no advertisements concerning events, and a lackluster fireworks show. Thankfully, i didnt have to pay to see them. Its a proud day; the 4th of July is,- its too bad we have the WORST fairgrounds/and management in the state. Not well kept, run down and no improvements in site. Its a shame that surrounding counties have GREAT fairs and very well kept grounds. Not here though. WHY?
