A major sponsor joined the Parkersburg Homecoming to help out with the cost.
30,000 dollars was given to the Parkersburg Homecoming board from Suddenlink.
The president of the homecoming festival Randall Roberts said that the weak economy caused many of the sponsors and the donations not to be there this year.
Roberts said that homecoming would have not had all great events without the partnership of Suddenlink.
Michael Kelemen with Suddenlink said that the local employees within the company urged Suddenlink to get involved with homecoming.
"When talked to our employees they thought that the event was successful and... was a great family event. They thought it was important that we help with homecoming, to make sure this year is a good year, " said Kelemen.
The headlining act for the homecoming weekend is the classic rock group 38 Special.
Parkersburg Homecoming will be on Friday, August 21st.
