Some area organizations can breathe a little easier thanks to generous donations from the Francis DeSales Health Foundation.
The foundation provides financial backing for various programs and activities in the area that emphasize health and cardiac education.
This summer's recipients include: the Parkersburg Fire Department Canine Unit, the Mended Hearts Support Group and SW Resources.
Donations of AED's were also made to the Belpre Baseball-Softball Association, the First United Methodist Church of Williamstown, Greenmont Elementary School, St. Francis Xavier Church, St. Margaret Mary Activities Center and Speading Truth Ministries.
