Jackson county officials have tentatively identified the man found dead in a creek Thursday evening. Sheriff officials say they believe 30-year-old Eduardo Arellano of Ravenswood is the man found dead in Sandy Creek.

Jackson county officials have tentatively identified the man found dead in a creek Thursday evening.

Sheriff officials say they believe 30-year-old Eduardo Arellano of Ravenswood is the man found dead in Sandy Creek. Arellano was reported missing July 4th.

Sheriff officials say the body has been sent to the West Virginia Medical Examiners office to determine the cause of death and an identity confirmation.

The incident is being investigated as an unintended death at this time.

Dispatchers in Jackson County say a body has been recovered from Sandy Creek, near Ravenswood.

Dispatchers tell WTAP that the body of a man was discovered earlier Thursday evening, around 5:30 p.m.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department along with the West Virginia State Police and Ravenswood Police are investigating.

Dispatchers say at this point, the body has been taken to the coroner and authorities are doing follow up work, like talking to people in the area.
