The Parkersburg Major Crimes Unit arrested two people for allegedly breaking into and stealing from Big Sandy Superstore over the weekend and the investigation is leading them to more stolen items from other businesses.
Police said after a traffic stop Monday night 34-year-old John Piersol of Davisville was arrested Tuesday on charges of breaking and entering and grand larceny.
Piersol allegedly stole 11 flat-screen TVs, a Blu-ray player, and a TV/Blu-ray combination worth over $4,000 from Big Sandy Superstore Sunday, according to police.
Police said Tuesday 20-year-old Tasha Ault was arrested on the same charges after questioning.
Police said Monday they pulled over a truck that didn't have a license plate and found Piersol who was a passenger inside the truck with warrants for his arrest on charges of forgery and uttering. Police said he was arrested on those charges and then this led to his arrest Tuesday in connection to the break-in at Big Sandy Superstore.
Police said the truck was stolen from Singer Sheet Metal but no one has been charged with stealing the vehicle.
Police said they have also recoverd a TV stolen from Burdette Motors from the suspect's acquaintance and more items have been reported missing from Burdette Motors and Singer Sheet Metal.
Police said more charges will be forthcoming.
