A Washington County man was arrested Sunday for allegedly threatening a woman with a gun and holding her against her will.
Washington County Sheriff's officers arrested 37-year-old Terry Waterman of Whipple for felony charges of abduction and assault.
Sheriff Larry Mincks said Waterman started hitting the victim and when she tried to escape Waterman kept dragging her back inside the house.
At one point in time officers said Waterman started loading a handgun and threatened he was going to shoot her and then kill himself.
After about an hour officers said the woman distracted him and escaped to a neighbor's home.
Waterman is being held at the Washington County Jail without bond pending a court appearance Monday afternoon.
