Update: Mason Co. Officials Release Identity of Body Found
WTAP News Update: The Mason County sheriff's department has released the identity of the woman found dead Tuesday morning along a roadway.

Update: The Mason County sheriff's department has released the identity of the woman found dead Tuesday morning along a roadway.
Mason County sheriff's officials say the woman found along Barton Chapel Road near Apple Grove is 35-year-old Tonya Slaughter of Huntington.
Deputies say Slaughter is the apparant victim of a homicide, but they have not said how she appears to have died. An autopsy is planned for today.
Officials say Slaughter has no family or known connections in Mason county.
The investigation into the homicide is ongoing.

Mason County Sheriff David Anthony says foul play is suspected in the case of a body found Tuesday morning along a roadway in the southern part of the county.
Anthony says the body was found on Barton Chapel Road near Apple Grove.
The body has not been identified. Sheriff Anthony says the individual appeared to be middle-aged.
Little information is being released, although the sheriff says an autopsy is planned for Wednesday.
