A local church is celebrating sixty years of making reading more affordable to citizens of the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Several area mayors were on hand for Monday morning's ribbon cutting ceremony, kicking off Trinity Episcopal Church's annual book sale.
Tens of thousands of used books will be on sale Monday through Saturday.
Organizers say more than half the proceeds will be given back to organization's across the Mid-Ohio Valley.
"It's fun to come and browse. And there's sort of a challenge hunting for what you're looking for or just finding something special you didn't know you wanted. It's fun," says organizer Lynette Neilson.
The book sale runs from 9am until 8 pm Monday through Thursday
and from 9am until 2pm Friday.
On Saturday you can pick out your favorite books for a dollar a bag from 8am until 1pm.
Trinity Episcopal Church is located between the four and five hundred blocks of Juliana Street in Parkersburg.
