Ohio residents were turned away from the Dils Center after standing in line for hours. H1N1 vaccine is purchased with federal money; therefore state residency does not matter for the patients. I know at least 1 Ohio health dept. that vaccinates quite a few of us Mountaineers. Some physicians have ordered vaccine, but haven't received it yet. Some other physicians are just telling their patients to go to the health dept. This creates a huge demand for a limited supply of vaccine from a small staff.

While I appreciate the fact that an H1N1 clinic is being held again @ the Dils Center, there is a few simple things the MOV Health Dept. could do to make the process smoother: #1- All people wishing to get the vaccine must pre-register.#2 Instead of doing all high risk groups @ once why not hold separate clinics for each group?I believe doing those 2 things alone could speed up the process and could possibly eliminate the long lines.I do not know if this is absolutely true but I have heard through various sources that Ohio residents were @ the Dils Center during the last clinic and recieved the vaccine. If this is true I think it should be mandated that whatever state you live in is where you get your vaccine unless you are recieving it from your own doctor.I think everyone should get a fair chance at getting the vaccine but I live in Parkersburg and my preganant wife and 2 yr. old son could not get the vaccine this last time due to the disorganized vaccine clinic.

It seems to me that nobody is happy about the H1N1 vaccinations. The way I see it, if your child recieved the shot, 1st dose of the shot at school and you have to travel to the MOVHD to get the second part, you should just keep your mouth shut and do it. Stop complaining about everything and be a responsible adult and do what is best for your child/children.

What about the ten and eleven year old children in elementary schools who couldn't get their shot because of the health departments "difficult decision to cut back on the shots?"

Why doesn't the MOVHD go back to the schools instead of making these children wait 2 to 3 hours outside for the shot? I don't think the MOVHD is handling this in a responsible manner. Why should all the children who wanted the shot (at the school), but was unable to get the shot, now made to travel to town for it. It seems as though the health department could do this better by going back to the schools.
