Update: The Wood County fire investigation team will work Thursday to figure out what caused the fire that destroyed a Marrtown Road home Wednesday night.
Fire crews say the blaze broke out around 10:30 Wednesday night at a home on Marrtown Road near Hill Avenue.
Crews say they don't think anyone was in the house when the fire started and nobody was hurt.
Three volunteer fire departments worked to battle the blaze and were on the scene for nearly three hours Wednesday night.
The home is a total loss.

Firefighters battled a structure fire Thursday night off of Marrtown Road, near Hill Avenue in Wood County.
Witnesses say you can see the flames from U.S. Route 50.
Dispatchers tell us three area fire departments are on scene, as well as the Wood County Sheriff's Department and CCMH Ambulance Service.
