More than five months after a mother of three was found dead in her Morgan County home, a McConnelsville teen has pleaded guilty to five charges in connection with her death.
18-year-old Travis Fischer has pleaded guilty to aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, rape, theft of a motor vehicle, and arson.
Officials with the Morgan County Prosecutors office say Wednesday in court Fischer admitted to killing 35-year-old Abi Matthews in her Malta home on June 3rd.
Fischer admitted to beating and raping Matthews, leaving her in the home, taking her car and burning it at another location.
Officials say he knew Matthews before the crimes took place.
Fischer was 17 at the time, but is being tried as an adult.
Officials say since Fischer pleaded guilty to the charges they will recommend a sentence of life in prison with eligibility for parole after 30 years.
Fischer remains in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail today. He is set to be sentenced November 19th.
