A local Verizon Wireless store is doing more than spreading communication; it's also spreading its wealth to support victims of domestic violence.
The Verizon store in Marietta presented $10,000 check to Eve Incorporated Thursday morning. Eve is a local shelter that helps domestic violence survivors.
Those with the shelter say this money will help with their many programs, as well as educating the community about preventing these crimes.
"This is going to be an amazing support for us. We have a few things in mind we want to do to improve our programs, and we want to do some work with our children prevention program as well. So, this is going to be an amazing opportunity," Annelle Edwards, co-executive director of Eve, said.
Verizon is also accepting donations of old cell phones to help with domestic violence prevention and awareness.
