Middlebourne, W.Va. (AP) -- The State Department of Education says school's out in Tyler County because of flu.
All four of Tyler's schools were closed Monday at the direction of the Wetzel-Tyler Health Department.
The two elementary schools, middle school and high school are scheduled to reopen Thursday.
The notice doesn't say whether swine flu is the reason for the closings, but regional data shows 99 percent of people who test positive for influenza have swine flu.
A call to the health department was not immediately returned Monday.
The State Department of Health and Human Resources reports roughly 13,000 cases of influenza-like illness this year.
That's more than six times the number of cases reported by this time in each of the three previous years.
