The Ohio Highway Patrol once again is partnering with MADD and the state public safety department, to educate people on the dangers of driving while impared.
In addition to the holiday season being a time for parties, lots of people are taking to the roadways looking for that perfect gift.
"Particularly with people going from out of town to visit, and their families try to go shopping together," says Sgt. Matt Boyd of the Marietta post. "We just ask people be patient, drive with due regard for the safety of other people on the roadway."
During the past two Thanksgiving weekends, the Mrietta post, which serves Washington and Morgan counties, reported 13 crashes last year, up from ten in 2007.
none of those accidents, however, involved fatalities.
