Before they sat down at the table and chowed down, thousands of runners came out Thanksgiving morning to trot off a few calories first!
The gun went off at 9:00am for the 31st annual Turkey Trot in Parkersburg City Park.
More than 2,000 walkers and runners woke up early to take part in this years race.
That is a record for the run.
Joe Ross has been participating in the Turkey Trot for the past several years and says keeping active is what's helped him on the road to recovery from cancer.
Warren High School graduate and OU student Tyler Cantley was the first to cross the finish line.
He and the top woman racer, Maddison Hill of Parkersburg, get to take home Thanksgiving turkeys.
Race officials say this years Turkey Trot was dedicated to the memory of Rick Brown, who died last month while running the Detroit Half Marathon.
