Deputies have arrested a man they say attempted to rob a Little Hocking gas station with a knife.
We told you about the attempted robbery in this week's edition of the Mid-Ohio Valley's Most Wanted and Friday authorities arrested 25-year old Christopher Griffin.
Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks says on November 19th, around 10:00, a night clerk at the Par Mar in Little Hocking said a man attempted to purchase beer and cigarettes, then produced an unopened pocket knife, demanding money from the register.
The clerk told the suspect she activated a silent alarm and he then ran out the door and left in a gold Chevy Cavalier.
Deputies first interviewed a witness to the crime, who stated he was the driver of the vehicle Griffin used to leave the scene.
He said he had no idea Griffin was going to try and rob the store until he quickly got in the car afterward.
Griffin was arrested in Meigs County on an outstanding warrant for Failing to Appear before he was taken to Washington County.
Griffin is set to appear in Marietta Municipal Court on Monday.
He remains behind bars Friday night without bond.
