The winter weather takes it's toll on all of us, but it can be especially dangerous for postal workers, carrying mail from home to home each day.
That's why Parkersburg Post Master Greg Church has a request for all postal customers.
Church says when snow and ice cover walkways, it can become challenging for workers to safely do their job.
"Clear sidewalks, clear the approaches to their mailboxes, their steps and stairs, throw a little ice melt down and try to clear that off, it just makes our job tremendously easier," says Greg Church, Post Master of the Parkersburg Post Office.
Church says, each year, postal workers across the country deal with thousands of slips, trips and falls because of ice and snow.
