Parkersburg officials want your help in celebrating the city's 200th anniversary next year.
The Parkersburg Bicentennial Commission is holding a logo and slogan contest for Wood County residents and students.
If your design is chosen you will win $100.
City officials want a logo and slogan that captures the activities planned to celebrate the anniversary.
The city of Parkersburg was created after the heirs of Revolutionary War officer, Alexander Parker, bought more than 1300 acres here.
In 1810, the town formerly known as Newport, became Parkersburg in honor of him.
The deadline to send in your ideas for the contest is February 1.
For more information contact the mayor's office.
