Nitrate levels remain high in Devola so a water warning remains in effect.
The Putnam Community Water Association reports that results from water samples collected on December 21 showed nitrate levels at 12.8 milligrams per liter. That's 2.8 milligrams above the nitrate standard of 10 milligrams per liter.
Nitrate in drinking water is a serious health concern for infants less than six months old.
Do not give this water to infants in any form and do not boil the water.
It is safe for adults and children older than six month old.
This warning has been in effect since November 25.
