Running In, So They Won't Run Out
WTAP News Projections of a major area snowfall sent people out on local roads Thursday...so they wouldn't have to go out later into the elements.

It wasn't electronics...but, instead the necessities...that were selling Thursday at the Vienna Wal-Mart.
"Just trying to get some milk and bread...and some extra water," said shopper Bruce Nutter.
"I didn't want to get caught tomorrow...when it's supposed to be bad," added Virginia Hewitt.
And while it's true many who were out shopping would have been going to the store anyway...one shopper told us she wanted to make sure she didn't run out...before the store did.
"I figured the stores would be as busy as they were.," noted Martha Wilson. "The shelves are starting to look like they're getting empty."
Another reason we found plenty of people out grocery shopping...was that at noon, the sun was out...and the streets, like Grand Central Avenue, were still driver-friendly. By Friday morning, that might not be the case.
"The state and the city crews do a good job about trying to keep it clear, but they will ultimately have a problem with the ice," said Vienna Police Chief Steve Stephens. "The snow isn't bad, but when you get the ice and the thaw, it is a concern."
Area stores do try to keep their shelves stocked as much as possible...in anticipation of people heading to the stores in advance of a storm.
