Wood County educators, students, and Mid-Ohio Valley business leaders met Thursday to celebrate a milestone.
The Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce held it's annual "Partners in Education" luncheon to honor the 25th anniversary of this program.
These partnerships are between members of the Chamber of Commerce and both private and public schools in Wood County.
There's a variety of ways businesses and schools work together.
Jeff Matheny, chair of the Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, said "sometimes it's direct money but a lot of times it's direct resources that the business has or skills that the business has that schools can utilize."
Student represantatives signed certificates acknowledging the milestone.
Business and school partnerships are now common across the mountain state but Wood County was the first in the state to have at least one business partner with all of it's school buildings.
