People working on the Point Park project in Parkersburg are watching the river extremely closely.

Recent rainy weather is bringing the Ohio River level up, which could pose a problem to the construction of Point Park as it sits so closely to the water. City officials tell WTAP construction shouldn't be terribly effected if there is flooding.

Ann Conageski, Parkersburg Development Director says: "they are a little bit ahead of schedule. They lost about ten days when the water got high a little while ago, probably a month ago. They can make up some of that time as they work a little faster. This contractor has worked on the river for many years. He's done a lot of corps projects, so they are familiar with flooding and what they need to do. So, its not something they haven't seen before."

Conageski also says the park is being constructed with the knowledge of the possibility of flooding. Once fully constructed, if a flood should occur, the park should not be harmed.
