Firefighters Extinguish Brush Fires Across MOV Saturday

Firefighters responded to several separate brush fires across the Mid-Ohio Valley Saturday.

Firefighters responded to several separate brush fires across the Mid-Ohio Valley Saturday.

Warren Township volunteer firefighters contained a brush fire between Silver Globe Road and Michelis Road in Washington County Saturday evening.

Chief Mark Wile said residents left some brush burning unattended and embers started the blaze across a creek and the fire swept up a hill.
He said about an acre was burned.

Firefighters contained a brush fire off of Williamstown Pike and Highland Avenue Saturday evening.

In Athens County a dispatcher said Coolville firefighters fought a brush fire off of Rock Run Road.

No injuries were reported from any of these fires. Also officials say no homes were damaged.

Saturday night the National Weather Service lifted its statement of a fire danger however there is a burn ban during certain hours this month.

Ohio state law prohibits debris burning in unincorporated areas from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in March, April, and May.

West Virginia law prohibits burning from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. during the months of March, April, and May.
