Charleston, W. Va. (AP)- Services are planned next week for a Kanawha County firefighter who was swept away while attempting a water rescue in Raleigh County.
The Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department said Saturday a funeral will be held Wednesday for Donald Adkins.
Adkins' body was found Friday in Piney Creek, about 4 and a half miles from where the 32-year-old firefighter was last seen days earlier when his boat unexpectedly capsized.
Heavy rain and snow melt had swelled the river.
Glasgow Chief Marty Blankenship said Adkins will be buried with honors.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Riverside High School.
