The Washington County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and officers from the Marietta City Police Department, have captured Justin M. Cline, age 21, 205 Trestle Hill Road, Marietta, who escaped from custody and confinement of the South Eastern Correctional Facility, Lancaster OH.
Cline was tracked down Saturday afternoon on Marietta's West Side. Authorities believed he had fled to Marietta, because he had contacted relatives in the area.
Cline, after escaping Friday night, is believed to have forcibly entered a nearby home and taken a cell phone, wallet, money and a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban bearing Ohio registration PRYOTEK. The vehicle which was unlocked with keys in the ignition contained a .45 caliber Smith and Wesson semi-automatic handgun with a box of ammunition. Both the vehicle and the weapon were recovered near the Anchorage Nursing Home, a short distance from where Cline was found.
Cline was missing from a head count at 9:00 pm on Friday night September 7. His exact method of escape is unknown. Cline was sentenced to five years in prison for a RICO violation from Washington County Common Pleas Court.
Cline is believed to be responsible from numerous burglaries and breaking and entering in Washington County prior to being convicted.
Cline was previously apprehended by the Sheriff’s Office after an extensive pursuit in the Beverly Waterford area which involved his jumping from the roof of one residence to another. Cline was living in a tent off of County Road 6. A burnt stolen vehicle and several thousand dollars in stolen items were recovered from that location.
