Hundreds turned out for a candlelight vigil held at the Wirt County Courthouse lawn Monday at sunset for the four people killed Sunday in a Mineral Wells traffic accident, as well as others who recently died in Wirt County.
Several area ministers and pastors quoted scripture to inspire and comport those who are feeling loss.
Cathy McVeigh was one of a dozen people who came to the microphone to share their emotions.
"I think, 'Love thy Neighbor', guys...Look at us...There's no better place than Wirt County WV to live, " declared Cathy McVeigh. "We're strong and we've got God."
Word of the candlelight vigil in support of four families that have suffered losses this summer spread like wildfire through the community.
There was barely a parking space left in downtown Elizabeth because of the sunset assembly Monday evening.
