A protest in downtown Marietta drew the attention of passerbys Thursday afternoon, which was exactly what organizers were hoping for.
Members of the Eastern Ohio Accountability Coalition lined the streets outside of Representative Charlie Wilson's office to protest what they say is the Congressman's disregard for their voices as voters.
Organizer Glenn Newman says Wilson refuses to talk to the group face to face.
Newman says the purpose of the protest is to draw attention to the lack of attention he says voters get from elected officials like Wilson.
A representative for Wilson says the Congressman is and has been readily available to meet with constituents, citing that this week, Wilson had nearly 7,800 people on his town hall conference call.
Spokespeople also say Wilson will hold office hours in each of his district offices in August.
