Dozens of past and current rowing enthusiasts turned out Thursday to celebrate the Ohio Valley Rowing Club's anniversary.
It's been 50 years since Dr. Oliver Brundage started a rowing program at Lake Washington and since then, several thousand folks have rowed at the OVRC, enjoying all the sport has to offer.
Thursday night the group honored its past while looking forward to the future!
Mayor Bob Newell presented the club with a certificate of achievement from the City of Parkersburg.
The rowing club also honored former Mayor Helen Albright for her help in getting the rowing club's training center on the ground and running.
