The warmer weather has Marietta saving money.
Only needing to put salt on the roads twice so far this winter... the City of Marietta saved with both salt and money to spare.
The City says it saved more than two-thousand dollars in salt.
The City bought nearly 400 tons in February 2011 and they still have more than 300 tons left, saying they budgeted to buy another 300 tons again this winter
The city says the remaining salt can be saved for next year potentially saving on the future budget as well.
The money saved this year commonly goes towards the street fund fixing holes and maintaining roads.
