The West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles plans to open a new, permanent office in Parkersburg by the end of 2012.
DMV and DOH officials have been working together on a location to house both offices. The new building is adjacent to the Eagles building located at 627 Lubeck Avenue.
The center will include many state-of-the-art facilities including a new motorcycle testing course and space for hearing examiners and teleconferencing.
DMV customers can receive most services at the temporary site in the Park Shopping Center, next to the National College building.
The temporary location has been open since mid-August, 2011, and services include vehicle titling, driver’s skills testing, driver’s license and identification card renewal, and vehicle registration renewals, which are the bulk of DMV’s transactions.
