One thing you haven't heard much about this winter is the flu.
But there have been signs lately that influenza is increasing.
In our area, the outbreak of flu has been low, but the most recent report by the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department says it's at the "moderate" level.
Its regional epidemiologist says flu season usually starts to peak in February.
"If you remember, in 2009, the flu season peaked in October," says Patrick Burke. "Traditionally, flu season peaks at this time of the year. It is increasing at this time, but we haven't seen the peak of it yet."
Burke adds that, if you haven't had a flu shot yet, it isn't too late to get one.
And if you got the shot, as reccommended, in October...it should last you the winter.
