A former Wirt County teacher is in jail .

Christy Wilson pleaded guilty to embezzling from the school she worked at last year.

The Wirt County Circuit Clerk tells WTAP she was sentenced Tuesday to more than two weeks behind bars and three years probation.

She'll also have to pay back the school district the almost $9,000 she took.

Wilson took concessions and other proceeds while serving as treasurer of the band boosters.

Court documents show she did not apologize for the theft.

She is behind bars at the North Central Regional Jail.
