Belpre is using a new agency to collect their city income taxes.

It's called the Regional Income Tax Agency or RITA for short.

City officials say you can simply mail your payment to the address on the new tax forms. The change officially started the first of this year in the hope to save time and money.

Officials say Belpre citizens can expect the new form within the next 2 weeks.

"We don't want it to be hard for people. The nice thing about the Regional Income Tax Agency is people will be able to file their taxes online. Businesses will be able to file their W-1 and W-3, their quarterly taxes online. So it really should be much more user friendly in the big picture," says Belpre City Auditor Leslie Pittenger.

Pittenger says folks can still pay this tax at the city building with either cash or credit card. Then they will forward those payments to the regional income tax agency at the end of each week.
