A fire destroys a Wirt County Home Friday morning. It happened on Route 3 in Newark around 10:00.
Neighbors that called-in the fire say it sounded like an explosion. The homeowner wasn't there.
Eastwood and Elizabeth Fire Departments responded, putting out hot spots hours after the fire broke out.
Elizabeth Fire Chief, Bryon Garrett says the dryer might be to blame, but no official cause has been determined.
The homeowners son tells WTAP his mother died a few years ago and all the pictures they had of her were inside the home, making the loss even more devastating.
Fire rips through a Wirt County home Friday. Around 10:00 AM flames broke out in a trailer on Newark Road. The home owner was not home at the time of the fire. The Eastwood and Elizabeth fire departments responded to the call and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
