Walton, W.V. (AP) -- West Virginia law enforcement officials responded to at least two domestic shooting incidents over the weekend that left four people dead.
The latest occurred just before noon Monday in the Walton area of Roane County.
A trooper and a sheriff's deputy responding to a report about shots being fired found a male and female both shot in the head.
The woman, identified by state police as 43-year-old Candis Kuhn, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male, 45-year-old Nolan "Billy'' Kuhn, was flown to Charleston Area Medical Center, where he remains in serious condition.
Investigators believe Nolan Kuhn shot his ex-wife, then called 911 before attempting to commit suicide.
A dead dog was found at Candis Kuhn's feet.
On Saturday, Kanawha County Sheriff's officials were called to the scene of a triple-shooting in Sissonville.
Lt. Sean Crosier says 43-year-old Edgar Sigmond shot his 42-year-old wife, Gina Sigmond, and her friend, 52-year-old Steve Woodall of Huntington.
Sigmond then shot himself.
