Washington (AP) -- Liberal group Moveon.org is running television commercials in support of Barack Obama in Cincinnati and two other cities.
A southern California police detective who is a republican, an air force veteran and self-described conservative is starring in the ad, which was selected by top entertainment figures, including Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
John Weiler says the country needs somebody in the White House that is strong and will represent democrats and republicans.
Moveon is spending $200,000 to air the ad for one week in Cincinnati, Denver and Milwaukee -- all cities in states considered general election battlegrounds. The ad will also air nationally on cable networks.
Moveon received more than 1,100 ads for the contest for the best 30-second Pro-Obama television spot.
