Fairmont, W.V. (AP) -- The agency that oversees forest fire control, logging regulation and landowner assistance in Northern West Virginia is moving.
The West Virginia Division of Forestry Region 1 headquarters is moving from Fairmont to Farmington, with the new office opening July 28.
State Forester Randy Dye said the move will streamline services for the public, since the new office will be adjacent to the Division of Natural Resources District 1 office.
Forestry's Region 1 covers 20 counties in Northern West Virginia, including all of the Eastern Panhandle and Northern Panhandle.
