Amman, Jordan (AP) -- Democrat Barack Obama says he doesn't think people in Middle America -- namely, Columbus, Ohio -- will be irritated if he's a big hit in Europe.

In an interview with the "CBS Evening News" on Tuesday, the Presidential Candidate was asked about predictions that as many as a million people may gather to hear him speak in berlin on Thursday. Anchor Katie Couric wondered if that might be "slightly off-putting" to a hypothetical guy in Columbus who just lost his job.

Obama responded that he talks to guys in Columbus and they understand that the U.S. needs to work with other countries and they want people around the world to feel good about America.

The interview in Amman, Jordan, came before the final day of Obama's tour of the Middle East.
