Pierson Township, MI. (AP) -- A Cincinnati company is working with a Michigan feed mill to convert turkey manure into energy that will be used to produce livestock feed.

Work on the new, 3 million dollar biomass operation at Sietsema Farms Feeds near Howard City, Michigan, is expected to begin by late August or early September.

Cincinnati's phase 3 renewables is helping the feed company install equipment that will generate steam and electricity from the waste of 1.1 million turkeys being raised at eight Michigan farms in Allendale, Coopersville, Fremont and Ravenna.

Sietsema company owner Harley Sietsema says it's all about getting the most from all of your products and byproducts.
