Charleston, W.V. (AP) -- West Virginia is again under fire over its revamping of the Medicaid Health Insurance Program.

A Georgetown University group says more than 93 percent of the children covered face the loss of benefits under the so-called redesign.

Georgetown's Center For Children and Families faults the state for scaling back coverage for recipients who don't take part in Mountain Health Choices. This new program focuses on wellness and preventive care, while promoting personal responsibility.

Medicaid officials say all children in Medicaid continue to receive comprehensive care including periodic screenings. They also say that the redesign policy currently exempts the disabled and medically needy from joining.

A coalition of in-state groups targeted the redesign in June.
