Charleston, W.V. (AP) -- West Virginia's largest school system is going back to court over the way public libraries consume some of its funding.
But Kanawha County school officials sought to assure lawmakers Sunday that they were not faulting them for the legislation passed to resolve the previous legal dispute.
The State Supreme Court ruled in the County's favor in 2006, over a special law that directs funding for libraries from revenue otherwise reserved for schools.
Kanawha officials believe that gave other counties a funding edge in such areas as teacher salaries.
Lawmakers responded by increasing local revenues available for schools. But Kanawha County says that just continued the funding inequality. It now wants a ruling on whether the legislation satisfies the 2006 decision.
