Casinos, Greenbrier Win Big State Tourism Grants
Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- The Tourism Commission has issued $2.8 million in grants to businesses that help make West Virginia a preferred destination, and casinos are again big winners.

Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- The Tourism Commission has issued $2.8 million in grants to businesses that help make West Virginia a preferred destination, and casinos are again big winners.
Charles Town Races and Slots gets some $380,000 to advertise in the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore markets, while Nitro's Tri-state Racetrack and Gaming gets $204,000 for its marketing.
Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort in Chester gets $192,000, and Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack gets about $140,000.
Other big winners Tuesday were the Greenbrier, with $363,000, and Snowshoe Mountain, with $272,000.
Adventure Resort near Oak Hill, meanwhile, gets almost $139,000 to create packages and advertise in Columbus, Cincinnati and Charlotte, as well as online.
