COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The state panel that approves funding for large road and bridge projects is set to vote on a recommendation from Ohio transportation department staff that several projects be postponed, some by up to 19 years.

The Transportation Review Advisory Council is expected to vote Tuesday. Transportation staff gave the new projections about two weeks ago, citing lack of available funds to meet current completion dates.

Thirteen projects could see delays of one to nine years and 21 projects could see delays of 11 years or more. All cost more than $12 million and are considered new, such as plans to relieve congestion or build bypasses.

Department Director Jerry Wray has said that the new projections are necessary because previous administrations made project commitments without adequate funding in place.
