A Parkersburg home is a complete loss, after the structure burst into flames Monday evening, but the story doesn't end there!

Parkersburg Fire Officials say they received a call that a house at 8th and Quincy Streets was fully engulfed in flames.

No people were in the home when the blaze broke out.

Officials say they have not ruled out foul play, and ask for you to call the fire or the police department if you have any information.

They say the home is a complete loss.

Now here's where it gets really interesting, firefighters got quite a surprise while battling that blaze.

There was a three-foot alligator on the third floor of the home, that escaped from a hole and landed on the second floor ledge, from there it fell to the ground.

Firefighters were then able to grab it and tape it's mouth shut until the owner's family came to pick it up.

They say it survived the blaze because of a pool of water on the third floor that kept it cool.

i would hate to think that i had a house that had an alligator in the house beside me it should be taken away from them and they should be fined for that this is not an animal to have in a house anywhere.
