The wet and then icy weather caused problems for some area drivers Tuesday night.

Around 5:40 p.m., a head on collision on West Virginia Route 68 sent three people to the hospital.

Wood County Sheriff's officials said Todd Parsons of Belleville lost control of his Ford truck and struck Gerald Simmons' Buick head on near Pond Creek.

Gerald Simmons of Washington and passengers Ruth and Jacob Simmons were taken to Camden Clark Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released. Parsons wasn't injured.

The Pond Creek Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the accident.
